Business Overview

Japan’s main energy sources today are fossil fuels such as oil and coal, which are limited resources. By contrast, solar, hydro, wind, biomass and geothermal are known as renewable energy sources and represent new clean energy to replace fossil fuels. While implementation has been ongoing in industrial and public facilities, the WAKO GROUP launched the land-based solar power generation business as soon as March 2013. We believe that we should fulfill our responsibilities as a company in our efforts to address the global environment, and we will continue to plan and implement new power plants.

Business Characteristics

As part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's fixed price purchase system for renewable energy, including solar, wind and biomass power generation, the WAKO GROUP generates electricity at photovoltaic solar power plants and sells the total amount to electric power utilities.

Point1. Clean energy

Converting the power of nature into energy will play an important role in our initiative to fulfill our role and responsibilities as a company in improving the global environment.

Point2. Public business

Consideration of the global environment comes naturally for us, but we are also proud that we have been able to enter into the energy business, because we believe that understanding it well will enable us to contribute more to the environment.
